Adult ADHD Assessments
I offer Adult ADHD assessments in a structured, three-session process designed to explore attention, focus, and related experiences in a thoughtful and comprehensive way. We'll use evidence-based tools including the WURS-61 and the DIVA-5. If you're looking for a clearer understanding of your attention and functioning, this process can be a valuable step forward.
The DIVA-5 (Diagnostic Interview for ADHD in adults) is a structured assessment based directly on the DSM-5-TR criteria. It evaluates the presence of 18 core ADHD traits (9 for inattention and 9 for hyperactivity/impulsivity) across both childhood and adulthood. In addition to tracking symptom counts, the DIVA-5 assesses how much these specific symptoms impair daily functioning across various areas of life, such as work, education, and relationships.
The WURS-61 (Wender Utah Rating Scale) is a retrospective tool to measure early indicators present before the age of 12. While the original questionnaire contains 61 items, most clinical settings score a specific 25-item subset known as the WURS-25. Clients rate their own childhood behaviors on a scale from 0 to 4. The total score is used to determine a baseline indicator for childhood ADHD and can help differentiate ADHD symptoms from childhood depression or trauma.
Please note that taking an ADHD assessment does not guarantee an ADHD diagnosis. If the clinical data indicates that your struggles are better explained by another diagnosis (for example, depression, anxiety, or an adjustment disorder) the final report will clearly state those findings. I take this process seriously and ask clients to approach it with the same openness and integrity.
You’ll be provided with a detailed written report that contains your results, how they were determined, and what they mean. It also includes clinical recommendations that may be appropriate and beneficial. Decisions about how this affects academic, workplace, or other accommodations are made solely by the medical professional or institution with whom you choose to share the report.
Because this process involves clinical time for assessment, scoring, and interpretation, fees are not contingent upon diagnostic outcome, and no refunds are provided based on results. The final report is issued only after all three sessions are completed.
